Pro Boxing Event Fight For Flint to Benefit Catholic Charities and Flint Community

FLINT, MI - September 19, 2016 – Catholic Charities, in cooperation with professional match maker Don Elbaum, along with celebrities and other supporters will be hosting “Fight For Flint” on October 1, 2016, at 6:30 pm at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center in Flint, MI. This event, which promises to be the most anticipated boxing event to help the Flint community, will feature upcoming local and international boxers and will be streamed online with a pay-per-view broadcast at www.FightForFlint.org.

Fight For Flint will bring added awareness and support to individuals and families served through Catholic Charities’ three community-based Soup Kitchens, three Sand-wich Programs and a large Community Closet of personal care, household, clothing and linen items for anyone in need of immediate support. As the foundation of Catholic Charities’ mission to Provide Help and Create Hope, healthy meals, food pantry items, clean water, infant formula and many other resources, including counseling, substance abuse treatment/recovery and prevention and outreach assistance services that support healthy development and positive outcomes are offered to all who seek assistance.

Fight fans will be able to see incredible fights including Alicia “Slick” Ashley and For-mer World Champion, Fatuma “The African Queen” Zarika, Tim Littles of Flint vs. Ex-World Champion Robert “The Fighting Preacher” Daniels, with Troy Albring, in his pro debut. As well as future world heavyweight champion Juiseppi “The Italian Stallion” Cusumano, and local stars, Rafael Pedro, Nate Green, Antonio Wade and Ramone Her-nandez.

Among the celebrities attending and helping to support the cause will be Tommy “The Hitman” Hearns; former IBF Heavyweight Chris Byrd; Roy Jones; Jr.; singer Ty Stone; the Dirrell brothers; sportscaster and radio personality, Roy Foreman; WBC International chairperson, Jill Diamond; and Jackie Kallen, one of boxing’s first and most successful female managers.

We are seeking local and national support, and have enlisted the help of many friends, both near and far, to contribute,” Don Elbaum, event promoter says. “Everyone is in for a real show with this event.”
